Some linkage...

I like the idea of a World Wide Web...it feels all community-effort and artificial-habitatlike and cozy, yet frontiersy, somehow.  See, there: "The Internet"...and that comes off like an institution...but WWW...ah, all global village-y.  What?  Hey, I *don't* live in the real world. Far as I'm concerned...the Web *is* my home.  A lot of these sites are just picked for interesting content, some relate to things I talk about, some are just really neat, in a generic, "what the heck's going on here?" kind of way.  And some of my links are linked to each other...it's webby...ooh...(late nights, too much coffee and html...I think I'm getting *peculiar*).

Info--not exactly all news, some of this is really just...info.  Ever notice how much news is just entertaining information, any way?  Yeah, me too.

disinformation  While they have not yet mentioned the cover-up about extreme geriatric cases with swords who fight in a bid for an eventual prize which may or may not include world domination--these guys do find stories that don't get much media attention.

Salon.com  This site goes beyond the usual few paragraphs about current events you get from the newspapers. If you like depth, you'll like this.

fUSION Anomaly   I haven't made up my mind how to categorize this--so I haven't.  It's informative, though.

deoxy.org   Just check this out.  Especially the parts involving something called "hyperspace tantrics"  There is a bit to be said for alternate realities.

Science Stuff--these are some of especial interest to me, and you'll probably dig them, too

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention  There are a lot of health issues that I don't really personally worry about anymore--but mortals should.  And even though I have few *personal* danger from things like emerging viruses, I take an interest.  It doesn't have to be Kronos showing off his *bug* collection, if you know what I mean.

Human Genome Project Information  I believe this to be one of the most useful things I can think of--getting a fix on what makes the species work the way it does and how some human ills might be understood, treated, and even cured (oh, it won't explain and correct the popularity of reality-based t.v. or boy bands, but hey, Alzheimer's and MS aren't shabby).

Aging Research Center   I wish I could find more on the topic of aging--as in, more reliable, more informative, more everything.  I've seen a lot of site in reference to aging, but a lot of them seem to be about selling hormones and vitamins (caveat emptor, populi).  This site, however, has some good, solid links and articles.

The Quantum Effects Devices Project (Making Star Trek Real) Ah, people, you know deep in my heart of hearts I am a diehard sf fan.  Well, one of the things that makes sf work is the "s", you know?  Science fiction is what we dream--I say it can be a reality. I'm not alone. I freely admit I don't know enough about physics to be really critical, but it's interesting to think about.
